How Others Got Better

We're not a therapy provider — we're a trusted guide to help you understand your options. Demystifying therapy is the first step toward getting help.

What therapy actually is

Therapy is a confidential conversation with a trained professional who helps you understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It is not weakness. It is not only for “severe” cases. It is a tool — like exercise for your mind.

What it isn't: Someone telling you what to do, judging you, or fixing you overnight.

Types of therapy

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Changes unhelpful thought patterns. Evidence-based for depression and anxiety.

Talk Therapy / Psychodynamic

Explores past experiences and emotions with a trained listener.

DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)

Skills for emotional regulation — often used for intense mood swings.

Group Therapy

Shared experiences with others — reduces isolation.

How to find a therapist

  • • Ask your GP or a trusted doctor for a referral
  • • Search on platforms like YourDOST, InnerHour, or Practo
  • • Look for RCI-registered psychologists or psychiatrists
  • • Ask: “What approach do you use?” and “Have you worked with [my concern]?”
  • • First session is a trial — it's okay to switch therapists
